2020-2021 Virtual Season of Choral Enrichment

A note for new singers…

Thank you for your interest in singing with the GMChorale!  We are a friendly group that aspires to the highest artistic standards. We work hard … and have fun doing it!

New singers interested in joining the GMChorale for “A Virtual Season of Choral Enrichment,” our 2020-2021 season, may participate in rehearsals on the evenings of Tuesday, September 22 and/or Tuesday, September 29, 2020 to get a feeling for how virtual rehearsals will work.  NOTE:  Registration is required to attend these rehearsals – details below.

Featured music will be: Bach’s Cantata No. 4, Christ lag in Todesbanden and Dona Nobis Pacem from his Mass in B minor; Schubert’s Mass in G Major, Mozart’s – Laudate Dominum and Sancta Maria, mater Dei – KV 273.

After September 29, a tuition payment of $130 for the fall season, or $240 for the entire year will be due.  (Please feel free to ask about paying in monthly installments or about the possibility of a scholarship if you need it.)

For this unusual year, tuition covers fall rehearsals through November 17, A three-part Speaker Series in January (Jan.12, 19 and 26, 2021), and 13 winter and spring rehearsals (Feb. 9 – May 4, 2021) which will prepare singers for a live concert once we are able to perform again.

Registration requirements

Because of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the Chorale will not hold auditions for singers this season.  As noted above, interested singers are welcomed for one or two rehearsals before committing to join the Chorale. For further information, please email or call new member coordinator, Margie Livengood at margie.livengood@gmchorale.org or 860-633-6198. After you schedule an interview, you will receive the password for the first Zoom rehearsal session.

2020-2021 season

At this time the Chorale has set aside certain dates for possible concerts; however, until there is more clarity from the CDC and from the Governor of Connecticut, no arrangements for holding in-person rehearsals or concert events have been made.  An extensive “COVID Situation Rehearsal Policies” document will be available for your perusal elsewhere on this website.
