The Festival of Carols at First Congregational Church, Cheshire is an annual holiday celebration where the story of Christmas is illuminated through readings, carols, choral anthems, and festive music of the season.  This popular long standing musical tradition is led by Music Director and organist, Joseph D’Eugenio, and the church’s Chancel Choir in collaboration with GMChorale. The dynamic newly-renovated Aeolian-Skinner organ plays an equal musical role in supporting and amplifying the spirited voices of the 50 voice festival choir and all those gathered to listen and sing along!

Established in 1723, First Congregational Church of Cheshire has been a thriving member of the Cheshire community. The church building at 111 Church Drive in the center of Cheshire, built in 1738 as designed by prominent Connecticut architect David Hoadley (1774-1839), is the congregation’s third edifice. Celebrated in numerous publications as a “classic” New England congregational house of worship, the church is graced by a distinctive steeple and weathervane. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.  firstcheshire.org
